Overview
Council Tourism, Culture and Community
We designed and built Love Central Coast for Central Coast Council: a custom WordPress platform where locals and visitors explore events, itineraries, guides and local businesses, and council teams manage content with ease.
Context
Showcasing the Central Coast for Council
Love Central Coast is Central Coast Council’s initiative to show off the best of the region, and it needed a website that worked for locals and visitors alike: somewhere to find itineraries, events, guides, stories and experiences. It also had to be easy for several council teams to look after for the long term. We live here, so this one was personal.

The Shift
Scale and Complexity for Regional Tourism
What existed couldn’t cope with an initiative this size. Trip planning, editorial, local business promotion, event listings and community stories all had to live in one system, and each is a different journey for a different visitor. Behind the scenes, council teams needed a CMS that made sense to them, structured so it wouldn’t turn into a mess as content piled up.
So we rethought the information architecture, the user flows and how the brand shows up online.
Our Approach
Flexible Build and Component-Led Development
Templates weren’t going to hold this much content or this design language, so we built it custom: a set of flexible components that give the design room to breathe and still make sense to the people editing the site day to day.
The Work
Government Tourism Website Scope
We designed and built the whole site, starting with an information architecture and content hierarchy that can keep growing.
It runs on custom WordPress with flexible content modules and dedicated UX for itineraries, guides, events, stories and local businesses. The branding came from Matilda Wilson Creative and Better Brands, and we carried it through every page.
Impact
Love Central Coast is now where the region tells its tourism and culture stories. Visitors find events, itineraries, guides and local businesses easily, and council teams can keep growing it with confidence.
For locals, the site celebrates where they live and gives them reasons to go and explore more of it. The design, and the way you move through it, is built around discovery.
This one matters to us. We live on the Coast, and the project was a chance to bring design, culture and community together and give something real back to the region we call home.
